jamiMy name is Jami. I am 32, married and I have 3 children. Growing up I was raised in a dysfunctional home where chaos and unhappiness were a part of my life. As a child I was very overweight and unhappy. I had a void in my life which led to doing things I said I would never do. I did not wake up one day as little girl and say, “When I grow up I want to be addicted to drugs.” At the age of 13 I tried pot. It was the beginning of the destruction in my life. At the age of 16 I started doing heavier drugs and it became a part of my life and my character. At the age of 18 I found my true addiction, prescription pain pills. As a result I ended up in jail. In 2009, I came to the South Georgia House of Hope and I left 8 months later, delaying God’s plan for my life. I soon returned to my addiction, still looking for love In 2011 I remarried and kept my addiction a secret. I returned back to the House of Hope in 2012 a very broken, hopeless young lady and full of guilt. God has restored my joy and my marriage that was broken because of my “secrets”. I have been taught how to deal with life’s obstacles without turning to drugs or blaming others for my problems. I now know that my identity is in Christ and nothing else. God has been so merciful and gracious. I will forever be grateful for what He has done in my life. The Lord has restored my relationship with my children and taught me how to treasure and enjoy them. I completed the program in 2013 and God has given me a strong desire to give back to the House of Hope. I love to see a new lady come in and watch God begin to heal brokenness and heal her heart. Thank you, Jesus for loving me and never leaving my side through it all. Thank you for allowing me to share that love with others. My vision is to work together with my husband helping other families to overcome addiction

Romans 8:28-

And we know that God causes everything work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for Him.

Philippians 1:6-

I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns
